Mixed media (pool screen and noodle) & acrylic paint on 18″ by 24″ canvas.
Painted in April 2015.
With Splash 3 being the third and last painting in the series (more than likely), I wanted to add both elements of the pool screen and noodle, and it came out swimmingly! I utilized a well-known art tool, the cheese grater, to shave down the noodle for added texture. Three sections of long screen, cut to length on the sides and middle, add depth and dimension to the piece. Splash 3 was a blast to paint! The barrage of contrasting colors seem to work well together, making this one of my favorite paintings so far. See the different stages of the painting by clicking below.
