Acrylic paint on 20″ by 16″ canvas.
Painted in March & April 2015.
After painting straight lines for months, Kaos 1 was my first opportunity to paint “outside the lines” and go crazy. Kaos 1 marked the beginning of my “action palette knife” painting style, as I actually walked around the canvas, dapping gobs of paint on the surface, then scraping & scratching out patterns… trying to blend them into something that was visual appealing. I eventually got better with the palette knife, and after several layers of paint, beautifully aggressive and powerful images appeared. All I could think of while putting on the signature was “Could I do this again?”
Note: This is a canvas that I painted over from a failed “Paint and Sip” party. If anyone’s been to a painting party, you’ve seen some pretty frightful results… the painting under Kaos 1 almost made me give up painting & my faith in humanity. 🙂
